India News : Late Friday night, Patna witnessed intense political and administrative turmoil when Purnia MP Pappu Yadav was arrested from his Mandiri residence. The arrest followed nearly 90 minutes of high-voltage drama, marked by heated arguments between the police and Yadav’s supporters. Despite strong resistance, the police eventually took the MP into custody.
📌 Case Dates Back to 1995
Patna City SP Bhanu Pratap Singh said the case dates back to 1995 and was registered at Gardani Bagh Police Station under IPC sections 419, 420, 448, 468, 506, and 120B.
According to the police, the trial is ongoing, and the MP was required to appear in court. After he failed to appear on the scheduled date, the court ordered his arrest, leading to the late-night action.
🏥 Taken for Medical Examination
Following his arrest, Pappu Yadav was taken for a medical examination—first to IGIMS Hospital and later to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH).
🏠 Allegation of Deceptive House Rental
Police said the case pertains to allegedly renting a house by concealing facts. The complainant, Vinod Bihari Lal, has alleged that the house was rented under false pretenses and later used as an MP’s office.
⚖️ Arrest After Attachment Order
Authorities stated that an arrest warrant had already been issued in the case. When court appearances were not ensured, the court ordered proclamation notices, followed by a final attachment (seizure) order issued three days ago. The arrest was carried out thereafter.
🗣️ “My Life Is in Danger,” Says Pappu Yadav
After the arrest, Pappu Yadav posted a sharp response on social media, alleging that the action was taken because of his fight for justice in the NEET student case.
He questioned the timing of the arrest, asking why a midnight arrest was necessary if the court had only summoned him. He also claimed that his life is under threat and said he would not be intimidated or silenced.
