700 Abua Medical Stores to Open Across Jharkhand: CM Hemant Soren

Jharkhand News : Jharkhand is fully prepared to participate in the nationwide ‘Swasth Nari–Sashakt Pariwar Abhiyan’, a health initiative set to launch on September 17 from Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

On Monday, Jharkhand Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari met Chief Minister Hemant Soren and invited him to attend the inaugural event of the campaign, which will run from September 17 to October 2. The CM has accepted the invitation.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Soren announced that the state government will open Abua Medical Stores across Jharkhand to ensure free medicines for the underprivileged. In the first phase, 700 stores will be opened, with plans to expand further in subsequent phases. The goal is to deliver healthcare and essential medicines to even the most remote areas, ensuring that no one dies due to lack of treatment.

Health Minister Dr. Ansari praised the Chief Minister’s initiative, calling it a pro-poor and compassionate step that will strengthen healthcare access. He added that this campaign will also contribute to women and family empowerment.

Under the state’s campaign plan, health camps will be held from panchayat levels to medical colleges. These camps will focus on women’s and adolescent girls’ health, and will provide free screenings for blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and other conditions.

Additionally, women will receive nutritional and dietary guidance, and important health documents like ABHA cards, Ayushman cards, and Divyang cards will be issued and distributed on the spot.

Key officials, including Health Secretary Ajay Kumar Singh and NHM Director Shashi Prakash Jha, were present at the meeting.
