Jharkhand News : The 80th Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic spirit at Saraswati Shishu Vidya Mandir, Dhurwa, Ranchi, on Saturday. The celebration featured flag hoisting along with a series of cultural, stage and yoga performances by students.
The chief guest and other guests were welcomed by the school’s ceremonial band. Shri S. Venkat Raman, Minister of the School Management Committee and Shishu Vikas Mandir Committee, hoisted the national flag. The ceremony was followed by the national anthem and enthusiastic slogans of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”
Students Present Cultural and Yoga Programmes
School Principal Shri Lalan Kumar introduced the guests. Sister Swati delivered an inspiring speech in Hindi and encouraged everyone to contribute towards nation-building.
Students from the primary section presented an impressive exercise-yoga performance accompanied by the school band. They demonstrated various yoga postures with remarkable coordination.
The children of the Shishu Vatika presented a captivating dance performance that won appreciation from the audience. A dance presented by girls from the secondary section also left the gathering deeply impressed.
Nagpuri Dance Highlights Jharkhand’s Culture
The programme also showcased the cultural heritage of Jharkhand through a vibrant Nagpuri dance performance. Students from the secondary section also presented an impressive human pyramid.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Shri S. Venkat Raman said that a society that forgets its history can once again fall into the trap of slavery. He stressed the need to further strengthen the country’s economy and work towards the goal of making India a developed nation by 2047.
He urged young people to remain alert to external conspiracies and work with dedication towards protecting the unity and integrity of the country.
School Officials Attend the Celebration
The programme was attended by President Shri Narendra Dev Goswami, Vice President Shri Sunil Dutt Singh, Joint Minister Shri Narmadeshwar Mishra, Treasurer Shri Ashok Kumar, Shri Akhileshwar Nath Mishra, Dr. Dhaneshwar Mahto, Vice Principal Ms. Meena Kumari, along with other officials.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Rakesh Kumar Pandey, in-charge of the higher secondary section.
The programme concluded with Vande Mataram, followed by distribution of prasad among the students and attendees.
