Offbeat : The popular quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati is all set to return with its 17th season. The show will once again feature megastar Amitabh Bachchan on the small screen. The new season is scheduled to premiere on August 11. This time too, viewers can expect the same enthusiasm, knowledge, and excitement for which KBC is known.
Amitabh Bachchan himself shared an emotional post on his blog about the launch of the new season, expressing his feelings. In his post, Big B wrote:
“Work begins… waking up early in the morning, starting work early… the first day of the new season of KBC… as always, nervousness, trembling knees, and apprehensions too.”
He also said that the contestants and the audience are the real strength of KBC:
“The contestants and the audience sitting on the set make this show special. Their energy gives us our enthusiasm. My best wishes and prayers to them,” he added.
This time, the promotional campaign for the show is also special. Sony Entertainment Television has launched a new campaign for KBC-17 titled “Jahan Aqal Hai, Wahan Akad Hai” (“Where there’s intelligence, there’s confidence”). The slogan reflects the mindset of today’s India, where knowledge is not just information but the key to confidence and success.
The campaign portrays how the common man today takes pride in his knowledge and considers it his true strength. Amitabh Bachchan also praised this campaign, saying that KBC has always been a celebration of knowledge, and this new message presents that spirit in an even more powerful way. It inspires people to take pride in their knowledge.
Kaun Banega Crorepati is the Indian version of Britain’s famous game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?. In it, contestants are asked multiple-choice questions and must choose the correct answer.
