“Pilot’s ‘Show-Off’ Stunt Forces Airways Suspension”

More News : In a shocking breach of safety rules, a British Airways pilot was suspended after leaving the cockpit door open mid-flight so that his family members onboard could watch him fly the aircraft. The incident occurred on a flight from London Heathrow to New York, leaving passengers and crew alarmed.

According to reports, the pilot deliberately kept the cockpit door open, not by mistake but to “show off” his control of the plane to his relatives traveling as passengers. Crew members, concerned about the severe security lapse, reported the incident to airline authorities and U.S. officials.

The Civil Aviation Authority has launched an investigation, citing risks of terrorism and hijacking since cockpit doors are required to remain closed for the entire duration of a flight. Following the suspension, the airline was forced to cancel the return flight from New York to London scheduled for August 8, later arranging alternative travel for affected passengers.

A source said, “The crew and passengers quickly noticed the cockpit door was open. People became worried and uncomfortable as it stayed open for a long time.”
