Jharkhand News : A shocking incident at Jharkhand’s premier government hospital, Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), has raised serious concerns about food safety on campus. A doctor from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology collapsed moments after consuming tea from the hospital canteen on Friday and is now on a ventilator in critical condition at the Trauma Centre.
According to hospital sources, seven doctors had ordered tea from the canteen, but shortly after drinking it, one of them lost consciousness, creating chaos within the hospital. The sudden medical emergency caused alarm not only among staff but also among patients and their attendants.
While no official cause has been confirmed, preliminary suspicions point to possible contamination or harmful substances in the tea. The RIMS administration has taken swift action, collecting tea samples for forensic testing and recording statements from those present.
The hospital management has promised strict action against any negligence or wrongdoing and assured that the matter is being investigated thoroughly.
