Shruti Haasan Praises South Indian Stars for Their Humility and Discipline

Offbeat News : Actress and singer Shruti Haasan recently opened up about her experiences working in both the South Indian and Bollywood film industries. In a candid conversation, Shruti expressed her admiration for the humility and discipline she’s witnessed among South Indian actors compared to their Bollywood counterparts.

“South Indian stars are very humble,” Shruti said. “There’s always a sense of fear among them — that the blessing of Goddess Saraswati might be taken away. That’s why you see simplicity and discipline in their behavior.”

She further shared that despite growing up in a household where religious practices weren’t emphasized — her father Kamal Haasan doesn’t follow such beliefs — she observed a deep sense of tradition on South Indian film sets. “Whether it’s placing a deity’s photo in a corner or offering a coconut — I’ve seen such practices regularly,” she noted.

Shruti also emphasized the organized functioning of South Indian sets. “Everything is clearly defined — who has to do what, and who doesn’t. The staff is well aware of how to present their stars. In Bollywood, I’ve seen a little less of this kind of discipline,” she added.

Highlighting the modest lifestyles of several South Indian stars, Shruti shared, “Even those who are very wealthy don’t flaunt it. They often wear simple clothes and still use old Ambassador cars. It’s a sign of their humility and simplicity.”

For Shruti, true recognition comes from her craft. “For me, a good film, a powerful script, or a strong song is the real medium to showcase my talent. That’s what humility truly means,” she said.

Shruti Haasan has worked in Bollywood films like Luck, Ramaiya Vastavaiya, Welcome Back, and Gabbar Is Back, while also earning acclaim in South Indian cinema with numerous successful projects.
