"Your Capital, Our Land – Now We'll Share Equally": Tiger Jayaram Mahato

Ramgarh: A Khatiyan Adhikar Sabha cum Milan Samaroh (Land Rights Meeting and Community Gathering) was organized on Sunday at Ambedkar Park, New Market, PTPS, Patratu under the banner of Jharkhand Loktantrik Krantikari Morcha (JLKM), Ramgarh unit. The event was presided over by Block President Prayag Mahato and conducted by Youth Wing District President Manoranjan Mahato.

The chief guest, JLKM Central President and Dumri MLA Tiger Jayaram Mahato, addressed the gathering and strongly raised concerns over the ongoing issues of displacement, unemployment, and lack of basic amenities in the Patratu region.

He stated, “Women are not just nurturers but a powerful force—never underestimate them. Even if you don’t vote for us, stand united when it comes to the issue of displacement.”

Mahato demanded that companies operating in the region must provide adequate basic facilities to affected communities, failing which, he warned, “Vacate our land.”

He emphasized that India’s true essence lies in its villages, and that the land and livelihood of farmers must be protected. “If the capital is yours and the land is ours, it’s time for equal partnership,” he declared.

Citing rapid development in Nayemra village, he questioned why similar progress couldn’t be made elsewhere. Mahato also criticized systemic apathy, saying the condition of displaced communities has worsened even after 70 years of independence.

The event saw participation from thousands, including leaders at various levels, affected residents, and displaced families.
