Jharkhand News : A 25-year-old man was beaten to death by a mob in Sitaramdera’s Chhaya Nagar late Thursday night after being mistaken for a thief. The victim, identified as Rahul Bhuiyan, a cart-puller by profession, had stepped out of his house around 1:30 a.m. to relieve himself when he was attacked.
According to police, Shivam Sharma and his associates allegedly assaulted Rahul with iron rods and sticks, leaving him critically injured. He was rushed to MGM Hospital, where doctors declared him dead around 4 a.m. on Friday.
News of Rahul’s death sparked anger among locals, who gathered at the hospital demanding strict action against the culprits. To control the situation, police officers led by Station In-charge Niranjan Kumar reached the spot and arrested prime accused Shivam Sharma. Raids are underway to nab the others involved.
Police sources said Rahul had a prior criminal record and had served jail time earlier, but stressed that the case will be investigated impartially.
