Jharkhand Cabinet Approves 66 Proposals Including Road Safety Rules, Art Academies, and Rehabilitation Commission

Jharkhand News : The Jharkhand Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, approved 66 proposals during its meeting on Tuesday, covering key areas like law and order, culture, infrastructure, and administrative reforms.

Cabinet Secretary Vandana Dadel informed that approval was granted for the expenditure related to the 16th Finance Commission meetings. The cabinet also approved the Jharkhand State Road Safety Rules, 2025 and gave the green light for establishing the Sangeet Natak Academy, Sahitya Academy, and Lalit Kala Academy in the state.

Significant approvals included amendments to the Jharkhand Right to Education Act and a post-facto approval of ₹20 crore withdrawal from the Jharkhand Contingency Fund. The formation of the Jharkhand State Displacement and Rehabilitation Commission–2025 was also approved. The commission will assess displaced families’ housing, health, education, and socio-economic conditions. It will comprise a chairperson, two members, and up to three invited members from local communities, including ST, SC, and OBC groups.

Other major decisions included approval of ₹232 crore under the Dam Rehabilitation and Improvement Project, ₹1,851 crore for the Punasi Reservoir Project, and ₹34 crore for the Bariatu-Hundru Road in Ramgarh. The cabinet also approved the formation of the Jharkhand International Migrant Workers Fund.
