Jharkhand News : In a shocking incident from Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, a woman allegedly murdered her husband and buried his body inside their house, all for an illicit affair with her nephew.
The incident came to light when locals informed the police. A team arrived at the scene and, in the presence of a magistrate, exhumed the body on Saturday. The victim, identified as Suresh Hansda, a daily wage labourer and resident of Tilaitand village under Barwatanr Panchayat in Tundi police station area, had been missing for the past 10 days.
Suresh lived with his wife Surji Devi, their 13-year-old son, and 6-year-old daughter. Suspicion arose when Suresh failed to attend the funeral of his aunt. When villagers questioned his wife, she kept changing her statements, raising further doubts.
According to reports, Surji Devi was involved in a love affair with her nephew. In a pre-planned act, she allegedly killed her husband with a sharp weapon and buried the body inside a room in their house, later covering it with a layer of mud and building a platform over it.
Police, acting on the information, broke the lock of the room and found a suspicious mound of mud. Upon digging, the body was recovered in the presence of a magistrate.
Dhanbad Headquarters-2 DSP Dhirendra Narayan confirmed that the woman has confessed to killing her husband. The body has been sent to SNMMCH for post-mortem, and further investigation is underway.
