Strict Action Against Government Doctors Engaged in Private Practice Outside Hospitals: Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari

Jharkhand News : Government doctors working in RIMS and other state-run hospitals across Jharkhand who are found engaging in private practice during duty hours will face strict action. This warning was issued by Health, Medical Education & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari during a key Governing Body meeting held at the RIMS auditorium on Saturday.

Chairing the meeting, Dr. Ansari said that the government is determined to transform RIMS into one of the premier medical institutions in the country. To achieve this goal, a series of comprehensive reforms have already been initiated under the guidance of Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

Asserting that better treatment and modern healthcare facilities will soon be made available to patients, the minister outlined several critical directives for improving RIMS infrastructure and administration.

Key highlights from the meeting include:

  • Immediate completion of the procurement process for a new MRI machine

  • Repair or replacement of non-functional ventilators in the Trauma Centre

  • Enhanced focus on cleanliness and urgent maintenance of hospital buildings

  • A review of 16 major agenda points for institutional improvement

Dr. Ansari instructed senior health officials to ensure that systemic improvements are implemented without delay. Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, stated that the RIMS Director has been ordered to take swift action on several reviewed issues, with visible results expected soon.

The RIMS Director described the meeting as positive and result-oriented, assuring stakeholders that significant changes in hospital management and operations will be evident in the coming days.

The meeting was attended by several key dignitaries, including Justice Amareshwar Sahay, Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, local MLA Suresh Kumar Baitha, Ranchi University Vice Chancellor, RINPAS Director, Principal Secretary of the Finance Department, Divisional Commissioner, and senior RIMS officials.

The next Governing Body meeting is scheduled for October 9, during which pending proposals will be discussed in detail.
