Jharkhand News : Security forces achieved a major success in Jharkhand after gunning down three Maoists, including Central Committee member Sahdev Soren, who carried a bounty of ₹1 crore, during an encounter in Hazaribagh district.
The gunfight took place in the forest area of Pantitri under Gorhar police station, near the Bokaro-Giridih border. It was a joint operation involving Cobra commandos, Hazaribagh Police, and Giridih Police against the CPI (Maoist) squad led by Sahdev Soren.
Following the encounter, a search operation was launched in which three bodies were recovered, including that of Sahdev Soren. The other two slain Maoists are yet to be formally identified. Security forces believe that several others may have been injured and are on the run.
Police officials called it a major breakthrough, as Soren was involved in multiple high-profile attacks in Jharkhand. The state police had announced a bounty of ₹1 crore on him just a few months ago. Security operations are still continuing in the region.
