Jharkhand News : A tragic incident unfolded in Naresh Nagar (Ward No. 1) under Tilaiya police station where a 34-year-old man was found dead, hanging from the ceiling fan of his rented room on Monday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Vishwaranjan Das, son of Vishnu Ranjan Das, a native of Bhubaneswar, Odisha. He was working as an Assistant Manager with Starlink & Wilson, a company involved in the installation of floating solar panels at Tilaiya Dam.
Colleagues Found the Body
According to reports, Das had returned to his rented accommodation in Naresh Nagar on Sunday evening, had dinner, and interacted normally with his colleagues before going to bed. The following morning, some co-workers arrived at the residence and knocked on his door.
Another employee, already staying in the house, opened the main door. When the others rushed to Vishwaranjan’s room, they found it locked from inside. After repeated knocking and no response, they broke open the door only to find him hanging with a towel from the fan hook.
He Had Sent a Disturbing Message
As per statements from colleagues, Vishwaranjan had called and informed some of them that he was under severe stress and intended to take his life, prompting them to rush to his room — but tragically, it was too late.
Company officials were immediately informed, who then alerted Tilaiya police. The police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation.
Possible Family Dispute Cited
Speaking about the incident, Tilaiya Police Station in-charge Vinay Kumar said preliminary findings suggest domestic issues may have driven the deceased to this extreme step. Company representatives also hinted at family-related stress as the possible reason behind the suicide.
The body was sent for post-mortem at Sadar Hospital, and the deceased’s family has been informed. They are expected to reach Koderma by late night.
Police have not ruled out other angles and are conducting a comprehensive investigation into the incident.
