‘Singham’ of Bihar Shivdeep Lande Enters Politics, to Contest as Independent from Two Seats

Bihar News : Former IPS officer Shivdeep Lande, popularly known as the ‘Singham of Bihar’ and a ‘super cop’, has officially entered politics. After resigning from his service, Lande announced his decision to contest in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. Although he has not yet confirmed the exact constituencies, sources suggest he is likely to contest as an independent candidate from Jamalpur and Araria.

A New Beginning in Politics
Originally from Maharashtra, Shivdeep Lande belonged to the 2005 batch of the Bihar cadre IPS officers. He took voluntary retirement (VRS) from the police service in September 2024. Known for his strict approach, honesty, and people-centric policing, Lande earned immense popularity and respect among the public. Now, he is all set to create his identity in the political sphere.

Delay in Party Registration
Earlier, Lande had announced the formation of a political outfit named the ‘Hind Sena Party’ to contest under its banner. However, due to technical issues, the registration process could not be completed on time. As a result, he will contest the election as an independent candidate for now.

Speaking about his political vision, Lande said his main aim is to fight corruption and serve the people. During his police career, he led several high-profile operations against crime, mafia activities, and corrupt practices. His reputation as a tough and trustworthy officer has made him a popular figure in many districts of Bihar.

Lande shares an emotional connection with Jamalpur and Araria, where he served for several years. He believes both regions urgently need focused development. If elected, he has pledged to prioritize education, healthcare, employment generation, and women’s safety.

Political analysts believe Lande’s entry into the fray will make the electoral contest more exciting. Despite contesting independently, his strong public image and loyal support base could give him a significant edge in the elections.
