In Saranda, Naxalites set Airtel tower on fire, sp

Jharkhand News : The terror of Naxals has once again returned to the dense Saranda forest of West Singhbhum district. During the Resistance Week, Naxals targeted the mobile tower of Airtel company located in Kolbonga village of Jaraikela police station area on Saturday night and set it on fire.

According to locals, about twenty armed Naxals reached the village late at night and poured petrol on the equipment under the tower and set it on fire. In no time, the entire setup was burnt to ashes. After the incident, the Naxalites shouted slogans and tried to convey the message of their presence in the area.

Villagers say that the Naxalites want to shut down the communication system through this attack, so that information about the activities of the security forces cannot go out. There has been panic in Kolbonga and surrounding villages since the incident.

SP Amit Renu said that the entire matter is being investigated.

It is being told that this is their biggest action during the Resistance Week declared by the Naxalites from October 8 to 14. Even before this, Naxal activities are continuously increasing in Saranda area. Recently, Naxalites had targeted security forces by detonating IEDs at three different places. One soldier was martyred in that attack, while two others are seriously injured and are undergoing treatment.
