Cyclone Midhili Weakens in Jharkhand, Weather to Clear from Sunday

Jharkhand News : The cyclonic storm Midhili, which had formed over the Bay of Bengal, has weakened considerably, bringing relief to Jharkhand. The widespread rainfall across several districts has now subsided. Although the weather improved slightly on Saturday, clouds continued to hover over most parts of the state.

According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is expected to clear completely from Sunday.

In Ranchi and nearby areas, intermittent sunshine and cloudy skies continued throughout Saturday.

During the past 24 hours, Jharkhand’s highest rainfall was recorded in Dhanbad at 119.6 mm, followed by Putki (90.8 mm), Barkatha (86 mm), Palganj (50 mm), Konar DVC (48.2 mm), Papkuni (48.2 mm), Panki (41 mm), Topchanchi (39.8 mm), Garhwa (38.6 mm), Namkum (34 mm), Nandadih (33.4 mm), Barkagaon (33 mm), Dumri (32.4 mm), Markachcho (30 mm), and Daltonganj (27.8 mm).

The cyclonic storm had disrupted normal life across several districts for the past three to four days, bringing continuous rainfall and a noticeable dip in temperatures, leading to cooler conditions.

In the last 24 hours, Saraikela recorded the highest temperature at 33.5°C, while Latehar reported the lowest at 19.9°C.
The maximum temperatures were 26.1°C in Ranchi, 30.7°C in Jamshedpur, 30.8°C in Daltonganj, 29.1°C in Bokaro, and 32°C in Chaibasa.
