Toxic Gas Leak from Illegal Coal Pit Sparks Fear Among Villagers

Jharkhand News : Residents of Tetulmari police station area are living in fear after illegal coal miners opened an unauthorized pit near PSB 4 and Bajrangbali Temple. The pit, dug under the cover of darkness using bulldozers, has now started leaking toxic gas, posing a serious threat to the surrounding community.

Locals reported that the illegal pit was opened dangerously close to densely populated homes. On Saturday morning, villagers noticed a strange smell and saw gas emissions near the site, causing panic in the area. Residents gathered and protested, demanding immediate action from authorities.

Villagers expressed concern that the toxic gas could seriously harm children and the elderly. They also warned that the site could trigger a major disaster, such as land subsidence, at any moment. Despite growing risks, illegal mining activities in the area continue to increase.

The community has warned that if the administration does not immediately seal the pit and stop the gas leak, they will be forced to stage a strong protest.

Locals are urging authorities to take strict action against illegal coal mining, close the pit, and punish the miners and their accomplices to prevent further danger.
