Fire Breaks Out in Moving CNG Tempo at Tatanagar Station, Panic in the Area

Jharkhand News : A major scare erupted near the main gate of Tatanagar Railway Station on Monday morning when a moving CNG tempo suddenly caught fire. Moments after the fire started, two loud explosions were heard, sending panic across the station area and nearby localities.

According to eyewitnesses, the tempo was being driven by Pawan Rai, a resident of Kitadih. He had just picked up a few passengers from the station when pedestrians noticed sparks under the vehicle and alerted him immediately. Within seconds, smoke began rising from the tempo, and the fire spread rapidly. Seeing the flames, the driver and passengers jumped out and ran to safety, narrowly escaping injury.

This incident marks the second fire outbreak in the Chaibasa Stand area of the Tatanagar station premises. Just two days earlier, a stationary car had caught fire, and before people could recover from that shock, this fresh blaze once again triggered chaos. The tempo was engulfed in flames, and repeated blasts created panic, disrupting movement in the area for a short time.

Upon receiving information, PCR vans, RPF-GRP teams, and the fire brigade rushed to the spot. Firefighters battled the blaze and eventually brought it under control, after which traffic flow returned to normal. Fortunately, no casualties or injuries were reported.
Police have inspected the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
