Pahari Baba’s Tilkotsav to Be Celebrated on January 23 in Ranchi

Jharkhand News : The Tilkotsav of Pahari Baba, one of Ranchi’s most revered religious events, will be celebrated with devotion and traditional rituals on January 23 at the historic Pahari Mandir. The occasion is expected to witness a large gathering of Shiva devotees from Ranchi and nearby regions.

According to organizers, devotees will offer Tilak and Negchar (ritual offerings) to Pahari Baba as part of the traditional ceremonies. The main rituals will begin at 8:00 AM, marking the formal start of the Tilkotsav celebrations. After the completion of the religious program, Bhandara (community feast) will be organized, where prasad will be distributed among the devotees.

The religious festivities will continue in the evening with a grand Maha Aarti at 7:30 PM, creating a spiritually charged atmosphere at the hilltop temple, which is considered one of Jharkhand’s most prominent Shiva temples.

Prior to the Tilkotsav, a Maha Rudrabhishek ritual will be performed on January 20 starting at 11:00 AM. The ritual will be conducted with the chanting of sacred mantras and Vedic hymns, seeking blessings from Lord Shiva for peace, prosperity, and well-being.

Every year, Pahari Baba’s Tilkotsav attracts thousands of devotees and holds immense religious and cultural significance for the people of Ranchi. The temple administration has also made arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the rituals and safety of the devotees.
