Jharkhand News : Jharkhand is currently under the grip of cold winds, with temperatures dropping continuously across the state. On Thursday, Gumla was the coldest district, recording a minimum temperature of 4°C, while the maximum temperature during the day was 17.4°C.
According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), cold wave conditions are expected on Friday in 12 districts – Ranchi, Khunti, Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Ramgarh, Bokaro, and Koderma. A yellow alert has been issued. In Ranchi, temperatures may fall up to 3°C, increasing the chill.
Over the past 24 hours, minimum temperatures recorded were: Hazaribagh 7.2°C, Khunti 6°C, Latehar 7.9°C, Simdega 7.9°C, and Medininagar 8.1°C. Ranchi recorded a minimum of 10.6°C.
Meteorologist Abhishek Anand stated that cold is increasing across the state, with western districts being most affected by the cold wave. In the Kanke area, the maximum temperature over the past 24 hours was 21.5°C, and the minimum was 5.3°C. Wind speed was recorded at 3.3 km/h, making the weather feel colder.
In McCluskieganj, temperatures continue to fluctuate. On Thursday morning, the minimum temperature was 6°C, while the maximum reached 21°C. The Meteorological Department has advised residents to stay cautious due to cold winds and the ongoing cold wave.
