Jharkhand News : A heartbreaking incident has shocked Jharkhand’s Bokaro district, where three members of the same family were found dead under suspicious circumstances. The incident took place in Sector-9, Street-5 of the Harla Police Station area, triggering panic and grief in the locality.
On Wednesday afternoon around 2 pm, police recovered the bodies of a husband, wife, and their minor son from an illegally constructed room on BSL land. The deceased have been identified as Kundan Tiwari (38), his wife Rekha Kumari (32), and their two-year-old son Reyansh Kumar.
According to Bokaro Police, the bodies of Kundan and Rekha were found hanging from a noose, while the child’s body was lying on the bed. After receiving information, police broke open the locked door, took custody of the bodies, and initiated further investigation.
City DSP Alok Ranjan and Inspector Sudama Das reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inquiry. Harla police station in-charge Khurshid Alam said that Kundan Tiwari was originally from Amarpur Kamdevpur in Banka district. He had married Rekha Kumari, a resident of Tupkadih, in 2002 through a love marriage.
The couple had been living with their son for the past year in a rented room built by a person named Parmeshwar. Initial investigation suggests that the family may have taken the extreme step due to mounting debt pressure. However, police officials stated that all possible angles are being thoroughly examined.
Given the seriousness of the case, a medical board will conduct post-mortem examinations of all three bodies to ascertain the exact cause of death.
Meanwhile, the parents of Rekha Kumari, Jitni Devi and Rajan Mahto, have accused the landlord of murder. They alleged that the couple was being threatened over financial transactions and was even held captive a few days ago.
The landlord, however, has denied all allegations, calling them baseless. He claimed that Kundan had taken ₹13 lakh from him in the name of arranging a job, which was never returned.
Police officials said the truth will emerge after completion of the investigation and post-mortem reports.
