Jharkhand News : A tragic road accident claimed the lives of three youths on the spot, while another was critically injured, in Surda area of Musabani police station in East Singhbhum district on Friday night. The accident occurred near Union Bank, Surda, when a scooter carrying four youths rammed into a Hyva truck parked on the roadside due to poor visibility.
According to information, the impact was so severe that the scooter and all four riders were dragged under the heavy vehicle, leading to instant deaths of three occupants.
Victims Were Returning Home
The deceased have been identified as Rohit Karmakar (21), Sameer Karmakar (18), and Raj Gop (17), residents of Jagannathpur under Ghatshila police station area. The injured youth, Rahul Karmakar (26), is undergoing treatment in critical condition.
Rahul had gone to Surda with his two younger brothers and nephew to visit his in-laws earlier in the day. Late at night, all four were returning home on a single scooter when they failed to notice the broken-down Hyva parked along the road in darkness, resulting in the collision.
One Youth Critical, Shifted to MGM Hospital
Local residents rushed to the spot and helped rescue the injured Rahul, who was first taken to Ghatshila Sub-Divisional Hospital. Due to the seriousness of his injuries, he was later referred to MGM Hospital, Jamshedpur.
Police Begin Investigation
Upon receiving information, police from Ghatshila and Musabani police stations reached the hospital and initiated investigation. The bodies of the three deceased youths have been sent for post-mortem examination.
Wave of Grief in Villages
As news of the accident spread, a large number of villagers from Jagannathpur and nearby areas gathered at the hospital. It is reported that Rohit and Rahul were married and worked as daily laborers in the Ghatshila area to support their families.
The incident has cast a pall of gloom over the region, and police are examining the circumstances surrounding the parked vehicle and visibility conditions at the accident site.
