Jharkhand News : In recognition of his outstanding service in the field of mining safety and environmental conservation, Avijit Ghosh has been appointed as a member of the Academic Council at RKDF University, Ranchi. To honor his remarkable achievements, the university organized a felicitation ceremony on campus.

During the event, Professor S. Chatterjee, Vice-Chancellor of RKDF University, and Registrar Dr. Amit Pandey presented Mr. Ghosh with a bouquet and a shawl as a mark of respect. This recognition comes shortly after Mr. Ghosh received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India.
Mr. Ghosh is currently serving as a Special Evaluation Member in the Ministry. He has also held the position of Director of Mining at Hindustan Copper Limited in the past. He was honored during the 42nd Annual Metallurgical Safety Week 2024 in New Delhi for his significant contributions to the field of mining safety and regulatory excellence.
His appointment to RKDF University’s Academic Council reflects the institution’s commitment to academic quality, environmental responsibility, and safety education. Mr. Ghosh brings with him decades of experience, strategic insight, and industry know-how that will enhance the university’s academic planning and research directions.
Expressing his happiness, Mr. Ghosh said,
