Jharkhand News : Incidents of missing children continue to raise concern in the Jharkhand capital. In the latest case, two minor sisters went missing under mysterious circumstances from Milan Chowk in the Ratu police station area of Ranchi on February 8, leaving their family deeply worried.

The missing girls are aged 16 and 12 years. Their disappearance has triggered panic in the locality, with residents urging the police to act swiftly.

Left home to visit a shop, never returned

According to family members, the two sisters had left their house on February 8 saying they were going to a nearby shop. However, when they did not return for a long time, the family grew anxious.

The parents first searched at the shop, then at relatives’ houses, friends’ places, and nearby areas, but found no trace of the girls. Following the unsuccessful search, their father Sujeet Sharma lodged a missing complaint at Ratu Police Station.

Returned from maternal home in October

The father said that both girls had come to Ranchi in October 2025 from their maternal grandmother’s house in Jehanabad district of Bihar. The younger sister is a Class 5 student, while the elder sister passed matriculation in 2025.

With both daughters missing at the same time, the family is terrified. Neighbours and local residents are also anxious and have appealed to the police to ensure the girls’ safe and early recovery.

Police scanning CCTV footage

Police have launched a search operation and are examining CCTV footage from Milan Chowk and surrounding areas to trace the girls’ last movements. Officials said all possible angles are being investigated and efforts are underway to locate the missing sisters at the earliest.
