Jharkhand News : Showing presence of mind and compassion, villagers in Keredari block of Hazaribag district saved a deer from a brutal attack by stray dogs late on Monday night. The incident took place in Navakhap Kurkutiyatand village.
According to local sources, the deer had strayed out of the forest and entered the village area, where several stray dogs attacked it, leaving the animal injured. Hearing the commotion, villagers rushed to the spot and managed to drive away the dogs, thereby rescuing the deer.
The injured deer was immediately reported to officials of the Forest Department, specifically the Tandwa forest range. Villagers appealed to the department to provide medical treatment to the animal and release it safely back into the forest.
Forest officials have assured that necessary steps will be taken to ensure the deer’s safety and treatment. The timely intervention by villagers is being appreciated locally, as it helped prevent the animal from suffering serious harm.
