Western Disturbance Changes Jharkhand Weather, Rain and Storms Lash State; What’s Next?

Jharkhand News : The impact of a western disturbance has once again altered the weather pattern in Jharkhand. Late Monday night, several parts of the state witnessed heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms, leading to a slight drop in temperature. The change brought a cool feeling during the evening hours, even as daytime conditions remained largely normal. The maximum temperature fell by nearly three degrees Celsius.

Rain Likely in These Areas

On Tuesday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 31.2°C, while the minimum stood at 18.2°C. A day earlier, the maximum temperature was 33.8°C. According to weather expert Abhishek Kumar, the shift in conditions is due to the western disturbance. He said that Jamshedpur and adjoining areas may experience cloudy skies on Wednesday, with the possibility of rainfall.

Storms Hit Ghatsila Twice

Ghatsila was hit by thunderstorms twice in the last 24 hours, disrupting normal life and causing power outages. Strong winds uprooted several signboards in market areas. The first storm struck around 11:30 pm on Monday, followed by another bout of heavy rain and gusty winds at about 5:45 pm on Tuesday.

Relief for Crops, Some Damage Too

Experts say the rainfall will benefit crops like mango and drumstick, offering much-needed moisture. However, strong winds caused many flowers to fall from trees, which may impact yield in some areas.

The Meteorological Department has indicated that cloudy conditions may persist in parts of Jharkhand over the next two days, with chances of light to moderate rain. While the weather has provided temporary relief from heat, residents have been advised to remain cautious during storms and strong winds.
