Jharkhand News : The Principal Secretary of the Road Construction Department, Sunil Kumar, paid a courtesy visit to Hemant Soren at the Chief Minister’s chamber located in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly on Monday. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the development of road infrastructure and the department’s upcoming plans.
On the occasion, Sunil Kumar presented the Chief Minister with a copy of the Road Construction Department’s budget for the financial year 2026–27. He also shared a progress report highlighting the work completed by the department during the 2025–26 financial year.
The Principal Secretary informed the Chief Minister that several projects are currently underway to strengthen the road network across the state. These initiatives aim to improve connectivity between rural and urban areas and upgrade major highways and important routes.
He further stated that for the upcoming financial year 2026–27, the department has prepared plans for new road construction projects, the building of bridges and culverts, and the widening of several key roads across the state.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren reviewed the department’s progress and emphasized the importance of strengthening road infrastructure in Jharkhand. He said that a better road network is crucial for the state’s economic development and for providing improved convenience to citizens.
The Chief Minister also instructed the department to ensure that development projects are implemented within the stipulated time and that the quality of construction work is strictly maintained.
Several other important issues related to the department were also discussed during the meeting, and both sides agreed to accelerate road development projects in the coming financial year.
