Jharkhand News : Hazaribagh MLA Pradeep Prasad has expressed strong displeasure over the decision not to allow DJs during the Ram Navami celebrations in Hazaribagh. In protest, the legislator sat on a धरना (sit-in) outside the Assembly and accused the state government of discriminating against Hindu festivals.
Pradeep Prasad said that Ram Navami in Hazaribagh is widely known across the state for its grandeur and long-standing traditions. In such a situation, banning DJs during the celebrations amounts to hurting the religious sentiments of devotees.
He demanded that the renowned International Shri Chait Ram Navami festival of Hazaribagh be given the status of a state festival. He also urged the administration to permit the use of DJs in the Ram Navami processions.
The MLA warned that if the administration does not reconsider its decision, DJs will still be played in Hazaribagh during Ram Navami under any circumstances. He added that the administration should respect the religious sentiments and traditions of the people.
