Jharkhand News : Three people, including a woman and two schoolchildren, were injured in a road accident on Thursday morning near East Plant Basti under the Burmamines police station area.
According to reports, a passenger tempo (auto-rickshaw) traveling from Sakchi to Burmamines suddenly went out of control and overturned on the roadside. The accident caused panic at the scene, and local residents quickly rushed to help the injured.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the tempo driver was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and at high speed. When the vehicle reached near East Plant Basti, the driver reportedly lost control, causing the tempo to overturn. As the vehicle flipped, passengers were thrown onto the road, leaving several people injured.
Local residents immediately rescued the injured passengers from the overturned vehicle and informed the police. Upon receiving the information, the Burmamines police reached the spot and shifted the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment. Doctors said the condition of the injured is currently stable.
One of the injured students, Lucky, said he is a resident of Prem Nagar in East Plant Basti and was traveling to school in the tempo when the accident occurred. He stated that the driver was driving at high speed before the vehicle suddenly overturned.
Locals also said that the tempo was carrying several passengers, including schoolchildren. After the accident, a crowd gathered at the spot and traffic was briefly affected. Police later brought the situation under control and restored normal traffic movement.
