Jharkhand News : A massive fire broke out early Tuesday morning at a furniture warehouse in Tilaiya, located in the Koderma district, causing heavy financial losses. The incident occurred in the Karma area on Ambakola Road and is reported to have destroyed goods worth over ₹50 lakh.
According to local residents, around 3:00 AM, a sound resembling a short circuit was heard, followed by a sudden flash of light. When people came बाहर to check, they found the warehouse engulfed in flames. The owner of the warehouse, Zafir Ansari, was immediately informed, and the fire department was alerted.
Two fire tenders reached the spot promptly, but due to the highly flammable wooden furniture stored inside, the fire spread rapidly. Firefighters had to struggle for nearly four hours to bring the blaze under control.
The warehouse reportedly contained wooden furniture along with iron almirahs, refrigerators, coolers, and other expensive items, all of which were completely destroyed in the fire.
Local representatives have raised concerns that an 11,000-volt high-tension power line passes directly above the building. They claim that multiple complaints had previously been filed with the electricity department to relocate the line, but no action was taken. This negligence is now suspected to have contributed to the incident.
Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the fire.
