Jharkhand News : A shocking incident of a high-profile robbery has created panic in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, where a group of around 10 armed criminals executed a well-planned heist late Monday night. The incident took place in the Barwa Adda police station area, near Mishridih More, targeting the residence of a retired havaldar, Kailash Prasad Mishra.
According to reports, the criminals entered the house stealthily through the staircase while the family members were asleep. The gang quickly took control of the situation by holding the children hostage, using fear and intimidation to overpower the entire family. Under threat, the victims were forced to cooperate as the robbers searched the house for valuables.
The assailants managed to loot approximately ₹3.5 lakh in cash along with gold and silver jewelry worth nearly ₹20 lakh. After completing the robbery, the criminals attempted to destroy evidence by damaging the CCTV cameras installed in the house. They also took away the DVR system, likely to prevent identification.
The homeowner, Kailash Prasad Mishra, stated that after dinner, he had gone to sleep on the terrace. He suspects that the criminals may have used some intoxicating substance, which prevented him from waking up during the incident. This has raised concerns about the level of planning and sophistication involved in the crime.
Family members informed the police about the incident around 2:00 AM. However, police reportedly reached the spot at approximately 4:30 AM, after which an investigation was initiated. Law enforcement officials have begun scanning nearby CCTV footage and are conducting raids in surrounding areas to track down the suspects.
Police authorities have assured that efforts are underway to identify and arrest the culprits at the earliest. Several teams have been deployed, and suspicious individuals are being questioned as part of the investigation.
Meanwhile, the incident has triggered widespread fear among residents of the locality. People have raised serious concerns over the existing security arrangements and police response time. The bold nature of the crime, especially involving children being held hostage, has intensified demands for stronger policing and surveillance in the area.
Authorities are urging citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. The police remain confident that the perpetrators will soon be apprehended.
