Ranchi Sadar Hospital Receives National Quality Certification, Becomes Jharkhand’s First ‘MusQan’ Certified Hospital

Jharkhand News : Ranchi Sadar Hospital has achieved a significant milestone in healthcare quality and child-friendly medical services by receiving the National Quality Certification under the Government of India’s MusQan initiative. With this achievement, Ranchi Sadar Hospital has become the first government hospital in Jharkhand to earn this prestigious certification.

According to a press release issued by the hospital administration on Wednesday, the hospital secured an impressive score of 96.61 percent in the national assessment process. The evaluation was conducted by a National Assessor Team on April 29 and 30, 2026, during which various aspects of healthcare delivery, patient experience, and quality standards were thoroughly examined.

Several departments of the hospital also recorded outstanding performances. The Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) scored 98 percent, the Pediatric Ward achieved 97.96 percent, and the Pediatric Outpatient Department (OPD) secured 93.84 percent. These scores reflect the high standards of pediatric healthcare services being provided at the institution.

The assessment covered key parameters such as service delivery, feedback from patients and their attendants, infection prevention and control measures, adherence to clinical protocols, and the availability of a child-friendly and safe environment. The hospital successfully met and exceeded the prescribed standards across all evaluation criteria.

Hospital authorities credited this achievement to the collective efforts of doctors, nursing staff, healthcare workers, and the administrative team. Officials stated that the certification is not only a matter of pride for Ranchi Sadar Hospital but also a significant accomplishment for Jharkhand’s healthcare system as a whole.

The hospital administration expressed confidence that this recognition will inspire other government hospitals in the state to strengthen quality standards and provide better healthcare services to patients. Efforts will continue to further enhance healthcare delivery and maintain high-quality standards in the future.

The MusQan initiative, launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, aims to improve the quality, safety, and child-friendliness of healthcare services in government hospitals. The program promotes child-centric care, quality treatment facilities, and patient-focused healthcare services to ensure a better experience for children and their families.
