Simdega Mangoes Reach Global Market as First Export Shipment Sent to London

Jharkhand News : Simdega Deputy Commissioner Kanchan Singh met Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday at the Chief Minister’s residential office located on Kanke Road, Ranchi. During the courtesy meeting, she briefed the Chief Minister about the progress of the Birsa Green Village Horticulture Scheme in Simdega district and its impact on women self-help groups.

She informed that mangoes produced by women SHGs under the scheme have now been successfully introduced to the international market. The first commercial export consignment of Amrapali mangoes has been sent to London, United Kingdom. This initiative, led by JSLPS along with the Mahila Jagriti and Beura Farmer Producer Company, marks a significant milestone in giving global recognition to farmers and women-led Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs).

Representatives of the women’s groups also presented Simdega’s Amrapali mangoes to the Chief Minister as a gesture of appreciation.

MLA Kalpana Soren was also present on the occasion.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren appreciated the initiative taken by the district administration and said that the state government is continuously working towards strengthening the rural economy and empowering women. He emphasized that ensuring better prices for farmers, creating new identity for rural women, and promoting agricultural exports are key priorities of the government.

He further said that such initiatives will help connect Jharkhand’s agricultural produce with global markets and significantly boost income generation opportunities in rural areas.
