Rahul Bachcha Murder Case: Main Accused Shabbe Injured in Police Encounter During Weapon Recovery

Jharkhand News : The main accused in the high-profile murder of Rahul Singh alias Rahul Bachcha, Saheb Singh alias Shabbe, was injured in a police encounter late Wednesday night during a weapon recovery operation in Jamshedpur. According to police, the accused was shot in the leg after he allegedly opened fire on the police team while attempting to escape. He was immediately admitted to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Police said that after Rahul Bachcha’s murder, Shabbe surrendered before the police along with three of his associates. During interrogation, he allegedly disclosed that the weapons used in the crime had been hidden in a forested area near Mango Road No. 14. After completing the required legal formalities, a police team took him to the location to recover the weapons.

According to the police, while the recovery operation was underway, Shabbe suddenly tried to flee and allegedly fired two rounds at the police team. In self-defense, the police retaliated, and a bullet fired by Sub-Inspector Sanjay struck the accused in the leg. He was overpowered at the scene and taken to the hospital.

Police recovered one loaded pistol, another pistol, and four empty cartridge cases from the spot. The seized weapons will be sent for forensic examination to determine whether they were used in Rahul Bachcha’s murder or any other criminal cases.

Officials said the entire encounter and weapon recovery process is being properly documented. Investigators are also questioning the other accused to determine the conspiracy behind the murder, the source of the weapons, and the role of each individual involved.

Accused’s Version During Interrogation

During questioning, Shabbe claimed that Rahul Bachcha had been monitoring his movements and those of his brothers for several months. He further alleged that he had previously survived shooting attacks near Bengal Club and Dimna Chowk and feared for his life.

The accused also claimed that Rahul Bachcha was not shot but was killed by an assault with bricks and stones. Police, however, said these claims will be verified through forensic evidence and other scientific investigations.

Love Triangle and Old Rivalry Under Investigation

According to the preliminary investigation, police suspect that the murder stemmed from a love triangle and a rivalry dating back nearly six months. Investigators believe Rahul Bachcha and Shabbe had been involved in a prolonged dispute over a young woman living near Mango Post Office Road. Police suspect that the long-standing personal rivalry ultimately escalated into the murder.

The investigation into the murder, the police encounter, and the recovered weapons is ongoing. Authorities said further legal action will be taken based on forensic reports, technical evidence, and the findings of the investigation.
