- CM Hemant Soren to Launch Aviation Programmes on State Foundation Day in November
Jharkhand News : Jharkhand is set to become the first state in eastern India to offer government-supported Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and Air Hostess Training programmes. The courses will be launched under the initiative of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, with their formal inauguration scheduled during the state’s Foundation Day celebrations in November.
The Jharkhand Flying Institute (JFI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Venyor, a Delhi-based aviation training organisation, to conduct the AME programme. For air hostess training, the institute has partnered with AISECT Limited, Bhopal. Both courses will be offered at the Jharkhand Flying Institute campus in Dhanbad under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
According to the state government, the new programmes will benefit not only students from Jharkhand but also aspirants from neighbouring states, including Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha and Chhattisgarh, by providing quality aviation training closer to home and reducing travel and education costs.
The three-year AME course will have 60 seats, with a total fee of ₹6 lakh, payable in three annual instalments of ₹2 lakh each.
The Air Hostess Training programme will offer two courses—a six-month certificate and a 12-month diploma—each with 60 seats. The six-month course is priced at ₹1,00,500, while the one-year diploma will cost ₹1,55,500. The fee includes uniforms, grooming kits and swimming training.
The programmes will commence after receiving approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). Applications for the Air Hostess Training course are open until July 30, and interested candidates can apply through the official website of the Jharkhand Flying Institute.
Jharkhand Flying Institute Managing Director Captain S.P. Sinha said all preparations have been completed following the Chief Minister’s directions to create new career opportunities for the state’s youth in the aviation sector. He expressed confidence that the AME and Air Hostess programmes would become a milestone for Jharkhand and help develop skilled aviation professionals for the country.
