Jharkhand News : Villagers from Dumran Panchayat in Ichak block of Hazaribagh district have accused Public Distribution System (PDS) dealer Kishori Ram of demanding money for updating caste certificate details online in ration cards.
According to the villagers, despite government guidelines, the dealer has been allegedly charging between ₹50 and ₹100 from beneficiaries for processing the online update. Those who levelled the allegations include Vinod Kumar Mehta, Mahesh Prasad, Raghu Gop, Jamuna Gop, Muniya Devi, Rekha Devi, Basanti Devi, Usha Devi, Leela Devi, Laxmi Devi, Shakun Devi, Kauleshwari Devi, Amrit Mahto, Jitendra Kumar Mehta, Bablu Mehta, and several others.
Dealer Denies Allegations
When contacted, PDS dealer Kishori Ram denied the allegations. He said there was no truth to the claims and added that beneficiaries could get the online process completed themselves if they did not wish to pay.
Probe Ordered
Block Supply Officer Javed Alam said the matter would be investigated. He stated that if the allegations are found to be true during the inquiry, appropriate action will be taken against the guilty party in accordance with the rules.
