Jharkhand News : Three people lost their lives in separate road accidents in Jharkhand’s Koderma district. In the first incident, a stone-chip laden truck rammed into a stationary truck on the Ranchi–Patna highway near Meghatari in Koderma Ghat, killing the driver and his helper on the spot. In another incident near Jhumri Talab, a man who was seriously injured after being hit by a motorcycle died during treatment.
Truck Driver and Helper Die in High-Impact Collision
According to local residents, the deceased truck driver was identified as Sadhu Yadav (43), son of late Lakhan Yadav and a resident of Nawada district in Bihar. The helper was identified as Chhotu Kumar (24), son of Karu Yadav. The two were cousins.
Hotel owner Amardeep Giri, whose establishment is located near the accident site, said he was serving customers on Sunday night when a speeding truck loaded with stone chips crashed into a truck parked along the roadside. The impact was so severe that the truck’s cabin was completely crushed, trapping both the driver and the helper inside. They died at the scene.
Local residents suspected that the accident may have been caused by brake failure, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Police Recover Bodies
After receiving information about the accident, Koderma police reached the spot. With the help of local residents, officers retrieved the bodies from the mangled cabin after a lengthy rescue operation and sent them to Koderma Sadar Hospital for post-mortem examination. The bodies were later handed over to the families.
Injured Man Dies During Treatment
In the second incident, Ranjit Kumar Yadav (36), son of late Chintaman Yadav and a resident of Jhumri, was seriously injured after being hit by a motorcycle near Jhumri Talab.
He was initially taken to Koderma Sadar Hospital, where doctors referred him to RIMS in Ranchi for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Police are investigating both accidents.
