Jharkhand News : The Hazaribagh district unit of the Public Schools and Children Welfare Association (PASWA) organized a large-scale tree plantation drive at Loknayak JP Vidya Mandir as part of the organization’s nationwide campaign to plant 5 million saplings. Around 500 saplings were planted on the school campus with the participation of PASWA leaders, teachers, students, and local community members.
The programme was led by Minku Prasad, President of PASWA Hazaribagh District. Alok Kumar Dubey, National President of PASWA, attended as the chief guest, while Lal Kishore Nath Shahdev, Meghali Sen Gupta, Mehul Dubey, and Veena Devi were present as distinguished guests. The event was hosted by Umesh Prasad Mehta, Director of Loknayak JP Vidya Mandir and PASWA State Secretary, along with Principal Sunita Devi.
The guests received a warm welcome from students and teachers with bouquets, flower showers, ceremonial bands, and saplings. Cultural performances, including a welcome song, Gujarati folk presentation, and glimpses of Jharkhand’s cultural heritage, added to the celebrations.
A special tribute was paid to late Bipin Kumar, former PASWA Hazaribagh District President, who recently passed away. A sapling was planted in his memory in the presence of his wife Veena Devi, his mother, and other family members. Participants pledged to carry forward his commitment to environmental conservation.
Addressing the gathering, Alok Kumar Dubey said that tree plantation is not merely a campaign but a commitment to securing a sustainable future for coming generations. He reiterated PASWA’s goal of planting 5 million trees across the country and urged every student to plant at least one tree and take responsibility for its care. He also described late Bipin Kumar’s dedication to environmental protection as a source of inspiration.
PASWA Vice President Lal Kishore Nath Shahdev emphasized that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility and said schools can play a vital role in nurturing environmental awareness among children. He added that collective efforts in planting and protecting trees would help ensure a greener and healthier future.
The event concluded with enthusiastic participation from students, teachers, parents, and PASWA members, who collectively resolved to contribute towards environmental conservation through sustained plantation and tree care initiatives.
