Jharkhand News : The hunger strike launched as part of the ongoing protest against alleged irregularities in various recruitment examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) and the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) entered its second day on Monday.
The larger movement began on July 5, while a round-the-clock sit-in (day-and-night satyagraha) has been underway since July 25, marking an intensified phase of the protest.
Protest leader Devendra Nath Mahato said that although prolonged fasting had caused weakness and fatigue, his determination to secure justice for the youth of Jharkhand remained unwavering.
“This is not the fight of one individual. It is a struggle for the future of lakhs of hardworking students, their dreams, and the hopes of their families,” Mahato said.
He emphasized that fairness and transparency in competitive examinations are fundamental rights of every aspirant and urged the authorities to ensure an impartial recruitment process.
Mahato also appealed to all protesters and students to keep the movement peaceful, constitutional, and disciplined.
“Your trust, support, and collective voice are the greatest strengths of this people’s movement,” he said.
