Draft Electoral Roll Published at 132 Polling Stations in Jaynagar; Claims and Objections Open from August 5

Jharkhand News : As part of the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, the draft electoral roll was published on Tuesday at all 132 polling stations in Jaynagar Block under Barkattha Assembly Constituency No. 20.

According to the election authorities, Jaynagar Block has a total of 102,515 registered voters. Of these, 11,478 names have been placed under the collection list, while 21,622 voters have been identified under the discrepancy category and will undergo verification as per the prescribed procedure.

On the occasion of the publication of the draft electoral roll, Block Development Officer-cum-Assistant Electoral Registration Officer Gautam Kumar and Circle Officer-cum-Additional Assistant Electoral Registration Officer Saransh Jain inspected Polling Booths No. 69, 71, 72, 73, 82 and 83 to review the publication process and election-related arrangements. In-charge Block Panchayati Raj Officer Prem Kumar and Aspirational Block Fellow Ashok Kumar were also present during the inspection.

BDO Gautam Kumar said that the period for filing claims and objections regarding inclusion, deletion or correction of names in the electoral roll has been fixed from August 5 to September 4, 2026. Eligible citizens can submit Form 6 for inclusion of a new name and Form 8 for corrections related to name, address, age, photograph or other details.

He further informed that citizens who will attain the age of 18 years by October 1, 2026, are also eligible to apply through their Booth Level Officer (BLO), or via the Election Commission’s online portal and the Voter Helpline app.

The authorities said that all claims and objections will be disposed of by October 3, 2026, while the final electoral roll will be published at all polling stations on October 7, 2026. The administration has appealed to all eligible voters to verify their details and submit necessary claims or objections within the stipulated period.
