JEE Main Score Can Now Open Doors to IIMs: Five IIMs Offering Undergraduate Admissions After Class 12

Jharkhand News : For students preparing for engineering after Class 12, IITs are no longer the only prestigious destination. Several Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have started offering undergraduate programmes, with admissions based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced scores.

Earlier, admission to IIMs was available only after graduation through the Common Admission Test (CAT). However, many IIMs now offer three- and four-year undergraduate programmes in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Data Science, Digital Business, and Business Management.

IIM Mumbai

The BS in Digital Science and Business Management programme requires candidates to have completed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and secured at least 60% marks.

Admissions are based on JEE Main Paper 1 scores and a personal interview. The final merit list gives 70% weightage to the JEE Main score and 30% to the interview.

IIM Lucknow

The BS in AI and Business Analytics programme is open only to candidates who have qualified JEE Advanced. Applicants must be below 21 years of age.

IIM Sambalpur

For admission to the BS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence programme, candidates must have completed Class 12 with PCM and secured at least 60% marks.

Selection is based on the JEE Main percentile and an online interview. Students receive a BSc degree after three years and a BS (Honours) degree upon completing four years.

IIM Bengaluru

The BBA in Digital Business and Entrepreneurship programme is open to students from Science, Commerce, and Arts streams.

Admissions are offered through JEE Main, CUET UG, or the IIM Bengaluru entrance examination.

IIM Kozhikode

Admission to the Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) programme is generally based on an aptitude test. However, candidates scoring more than 80 percentile in JEE Main are eligible for direct interview consideration.

Multiple Exit Options and Scholarships

These undergraduate programmes offer a multiple-exit system, allowing students to earn:

  • A Certificate after one year,
  • A Diploma after two years, and
  • An Honours Degree after completing four years.

Most programmes also include mandatory corporate internships from the third year.

Students can also avail themselves of financial support through Merit-cum-Means Scholarships, Central Sector Scholarships, and education loans.

More Options Beyond These Programmes

Apart from these new undergraduate courses, IIM Indore, IIM Rohtak, IIM Jammu, and IIM Bodh Gaya already offer the five-year Integrated Programme in Management (IPM) for students after Class 12.

In addition, institutions such as IIIT Hyderabad, BITS Pilani, and NMIMS also provide admission to various undergraduate programmes through JEE Main or their respective entrance examinations.
