Jharkhand News : ESL Steel Limited, a subsidiary of Vedanta Iron and Steel Limited (VISL), has achieved a major sustainability milestone by securing the prestigious CII GreenPro Ecolabel certification for its flagship V-WIRRO Wire Rods and V-DUCPIPE Ductile Iron Pipes.
With this latest achievement, all three of the company’s flagship finished steel products—V-Xega TMT Bars, V-WIRRO Wire Rods, and V-DUCPIPE Ductile Iron Pipes—are now GreenPro certified, reinforcing ESL Steel’s commitment to sustainable manufacturing and environmentally responsible product innovation.
Globally Recognised Sustainability Certification
The GreenPro Ecolabel, developed by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), is a globally recognised Type-I Ecolabel accredited by the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).
The certification is awarded following a rigorous life cycle-based sustainability assessment that evaluates products on key parameters, including:
- Carbon footprint
- Environmental performance
- Resource efficiency
- Energy conservation
- Responsible manufacturing practices
Products meeting these stringent criteria are recognised as Green Products under the GreenPro Ecolabel framework.
Boost to Sustainable Infrastructure
The certification further strengthens ESL Steel’s position as a responsible steel manufacturer focused on delivering high-quality products while reducing its environmental footprint.
GreenPro-certified products are increasingly preferred for green buildings, sustainable infrastructure projects, and responsible procurement initiatives, enabling customers to make environmentally conscious choices.
