Jharkhand News : Two elderly men were allegedly killed with a sharp weapon over a land dispute in Mangrutalla village under Jarda Panchayat of Jari police station area in Gumla district on Sunday evening. The deceased have been identified as Bhushan Kherwar (60) and Budhram Kherwar (70), both residents of Mangrutalla village. The incident created panic in the village.
According to the preliminary information, both men were present in the village when they were attacked with a sharp weapon. They died in the attack.
Police Begin Investigation
After receiving information about the incident, Jari police station in-charge Shani Kumar reached the spot with a police team. Police took both bodies into custody and started an investigation.
Police are questioning villagers to determine the circumstances surrounding the killings and gather information about the suspected accused.
Land Dispute Suspected as Motive
A land dispute is being considered the preliminary reason behind the killings. However, police have not yet officially confirmed who carried out the attack or the exact circumstances in which the murders took place.
Police are investigating all aspects of the case. Police station in-charge Shani Kumar said that the matter is being investigated seriously.
