Jharkhand News : Ranchi Police has been placed on high alert following the Jharkhand bandh called by the BJP in protest against the lathi-charge on students during their assembly march. Security arrangements have been tightened across the capital to prevent any untoward incident during the bandh.
Special surveillance has been activated in sensitive areas, major intersections and locations where demonstrations are likely to take place. Police personnel have been instructed to remain on alert throughout the bandh.
Special Security from Jaipal Singh Stadium to Assembly
Ranchi Police is keeping a close watch on students present at Jaipal Singh Stadium. Officials apprehend that the student movement could lead to a law-and-order situation at any location during the bandh.
In view of this, additional security personnel have been deployed from Jaipal Singh Stadium towards the Assembly. Police have also been positioned at major intersections, sensitive locations and potential protest sites.
Control Room and Drones to Monitor City
The police surveillance system has been strengthened for the bandh. The City Control Room will monitor activities across Ranchi, while drones will be used to keep watch over sensitive and crowded areas.
Senior police officials have been instructed to continuously review the situation and reach the spot immediately if any information regarding a gathering or disturbance is received.
Around 3,000 Personnel Deployed
Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed across Ranchi for the bandh. The deployment includes district police personnel as well as additional forces, depending on requirements.
The force has been positioned in a way that allows personnel to reach different parts of the city quickly in case of an emergency. The entire security arrangement is being monitored by Ranchi SSP Rakesh Ranjan.
Police officials are maintaining continuous coordination to ensure law and order during the bandh. The police administration has made it clear that anyone attempting to disturb peace and public order will face action according to the rules.
