Jharkhand News : BJP leaders and workers staged protests at several locations in Ranchi on Tuesday during the Jharkhand bandh called in protest against the lathi-charge on students. At around 11 am, BJP workers gathered at the New Market intersection on Ratu Road, raised slogans and burned tyres in protest against the government.
The demonstration led to traffic disruption on Ratu Road, with a traffic jam developing in the area.
Police Reach Ratu Road
After receiving information about the protest, police reached the spot and began managing the traffic situation. Police personnel were also deployed to prevent any untoward incident.
Police officials tried to persuade the protesting BJP leaders and workers to clear the road and end the disruption.
Protests Also Held at Kishoreganj and Harmu
Earlier, BJP workers had staged similar protests at Kishoreganj Chowk and Harmu Chowk on Harmu Road. Protesters burned tyres and raised slogans against the government.
After police forces reached the locations, the protesters left while continuing to raise slogans. During the demonstrations, BJP workers also appealed to shopkeepers to support the Jharkhand bandh.
