Jharkhand News : More than 400 students of Jawahar Vidya Mandir (JVM), Shyamali were honoured for their performance in the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF) 2025-26 examinations at a grand award ceremony held at the school’s Dayanand Auditorium.
The ceremony witnessed students receiving medals, cash awards, trophies, certificates and gift vouchers for their performance in various SOF Olympiads.
Sajal and Vaibhav Win Academic Excellence Scholarship
Class 6 student Sajal and Class 9 student Vaibhav emerged as the major achievers of the ceremony. Both students received the SOF Academic Excellence Scholarship (AES) for their all-round performance.
They were presented with a cash award of ₹5,000, a trophy and a certificate.
Students Excel in International Olympiads
JVM Shyamali students performed strongly in both the first and second levels of the SOF Olympiads.
The students participated in competitions including the International Mathematics Olympiad (IMO), National Science Olympiad (NSO), International English Olympiad (IEO), International Commerce Olympiad (ICSO), International Social Studies Olympiad (ISSO), International Hindi Olympiad (IHO) and International Computer Olympiad (ICO).
Students won Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, along with Gold Medals of Excellence at the zonal and international levels.
Cash Awards and Gift Vouchers Presented
Meritorious students were awarded cash prizes ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹500, along with medals, trophies and gift vouchers.
The award ceremony celebrated the achievements of students across different Olympiad categories and recognised their academic performance.
School Leadership Encourages Young Achievers
The school leadership team remained present to encourage the students and present the awards.
Principal B.N. Jha, Vice Principal Anupama Srivastava, Senior Secondary Section In-charge Aminder Kaur Saluja, Secondary Section In-charge Dr S. Jha Sushil, Upper Primary Section In-charge Deepak Kumar Sinha, Lower Primary Section In-charge Mamta Das, Student Welfare Faculty Head L.N. Pattnaik, School Training Nodal Officer Indrajeet Kumar, Coordinator Sushmita Mishra, Controller of Examinations Madhuparna Purkayastha and Physical Education Department Head Dr Moti Prasad presented trophies and medals to the students.
SOF Team Plays Key Role in Organising Ceremony
The programme was organised with the efforts of SOF Overall Coordinator Meethu Brahma and SOF In-charge Sreelekha G. Menon.
Other members of the organising team included Smita Nidhi, Mahna Sarkar, Asif Khan, Alpana Prakash, Rashmi Ojha and Sonia Choubey.
Congratulating the students, Principal B.N. Jha said that success in the Olympiad was only the beginning of their journey. He said such competitive examinations help students overcome fear and prepare them for greater challenges in the future.
