Jharkhand News : Heavy rain was recorded in Ranchi and nearby areas on Thursday, leading to waterlogging on roads and disruption to traffic in several parts of the city. Birsa Chowk, Hinoo and Doranda were among the areas affected by traffic congestion after the rain.
The situation was brought under control after some time and traffic movement returned to normal in several areas. However, rainwater also accumulated in many residential localities, causing inconvenience to residents and commuters.
Yellow Alert Issued Till August 31
The weather department has forecast heavy rainfall in several districts of Jharkhand till August 31. A yellow alert has been issued in view of the expected weather conditions.
Cloudy conditions prevailed in Ranchi and nearby areas from Thursday morning, while several parts of the city received heavy rainfall after noon.
Jamshedpur Records Highest Rainfall
During the past 24 hours, Jamshedpur recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 67.6 mm.
The highest temperature in Jharkhand during the same period was also recorded in Jamshedpur at 35 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded at Kanke in Ranchi at 20.4 degrees Celsius.
Temperature Recorded in Major Cities
On Thursday, Ranchi recorded a maximum temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 23.8 degrees Celsius.
Jamshedpur recorded a maximum of 35 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 25.8 degrees Celsius. Daltonganj recorded a maximum temperature of 31.2 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.
Bokaro recorded a maximum of 31.1 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 26.1 degrees Celsius. In Chaibasa, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.8 degrees Celsius, while the minimum stood at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
