Jharkhand News : Ranchi Municipal Corporation has launched an inspection drive against coaching institutes and libraries operating across the city. The civic body inspected 70 coaching institutes in different wards and found 18 operating without valid municipal trade licences. The sealing process against these institutes has now been initiated.
All 18 institutes found operating without licences were first issued notices. They were directed to obtain trade licences within three days and operate their institutes in accordance with the prescribed rules.
However, the concerned institutes failed to comply even after the stipulated deadline had passed. Following this, the municipal corporation began sealing action against them.
Operating Without Trade Licence Violates Rules
According to municipal officials, conducting commercial activities without a valid trade licence is a violation under Section 455 of the Jharkhand Municipal Act, 2011, and the Jharkhand Municipal Trade Licence Rules, 2017.
The inspection found violations of Sections 455 and 600 of the Act and Clauses 19 and 20 of the Trade Licence Rules in the concerned establishments.
Institutes Facing Sealing Action
The institutes against which sealing action has been initiated include MBA Achievers, Gravity Education, National CLAT Academy, Master Minds, Pages Library, The Blackboard, AKS Academy and DCUBE Classes, among others.
Civic Body Warns of Further Action
Ranchi Municipal Corporation said strict action would continue against any commercial establishment operating in the city without a valid trade licence.
The civic body has appealed to all coaching institutes and other commercial establishments to obtain the required licences and permissions before starting or continuing their operations.
