Jharkhand News : The CID investigation into alleged irregularities, paper leaks and manipulation of OMR sheets in Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) examinations has revealed several important details during questioning of Ramveer Singh, director of the examination agency M/s TSR Data Processing Private Limited (TDPL).
According to Singh’s statement to the CID, Dharmendra, the then JPSC chairman L. Khiangte’s computer operator, allegedly had frequent visits from brokers and agents. Singh told investigators that Dharmendra pressured him over the selection of candidates and invoked Khiangte’s name to exert influence.
Dispute Over Candidate Selection
Singh reportedly told the CID that a dispute between him and Dharmendra once escalated into a heated argument near the Shani Temple at Hinoo Chowk in Ranchi.
According to Singh, Dharmendra and Ravi Kumar, who was associated with Lalpur-based coaching institute Shivangan Ki Pathshala, allegedly threatened him with jail if their candidates were not selected.
Pressure to Leak Papers in ACF and FRO Exams
Singh further alleged that Dharmendra pressured him to facilitate the illegal selection of 10-12 candidates in the Assistant Conservator of Forests (ACF) and Forest Range Officer (FRO) recruitment examinations by leaking question papers.
Singh reportedly told the CID that he refused to leak the papers and informed then JPSC chairman L. Khiangte and Deputy Examination Controller Shweta Gupta about the matter.
However, according to his statement, the alleged attempts to influence recruitment continued despite the information being conveyed at the higher level.
CID Verifying Statements
The CID is now verifying the information provided by Ramveer Singh. Investigators are also expected to examine the role of Ravi Kumar, who is associated with Shivangan Ki Pathshala, as part of the ongoing probe.
The investigation is looking into the alleged network involving examination-related irregularities and attempts to influence the selection of candidates.
Civil Judge PT Merit List Also Under Scanner
During questioning, Ramveer Singh also told the CID that the Civil Judge preliminary examination had not been conducted by his agency. He reportedly said that the merit list was prepared and released by a third-party agency.
Later, following a Supreme Court order, two disputed questions were removed. TDPL subsequently issued a revised merit list.
200 Candidates Dropped, 200 New Names Entered
According to Singh’s statement, the changes in the merit list resulted in around 200 candidates who had initially been selected being removed, while 200 new candidates entered the revised merit list.
Singh further alleged that after this, during the FRO and ACF examinations, Dharmendra openly began negotiating over the selection of 10-12 candidates and the alleged leaking of examination papers.
The CID is currently verifying these allegations and the information provided during the investigation.
